Mildred K. Bryant
Mrs. Mildred
K. Bryant will be on duty on November 8th, Saturday, to judge our
67th Sweepstakes Show. This lady has always led a busy life.
She is the widow of a medical doctor who had a family practice
in a rural area. She has successfully combined her role as a
wife and mother in the raising of three children along with her
breeding and exhibiting of pure bred dogs.
The year was
l954 when she began a dog breeding program, under the registered
kennel name of “Milbran". She has bred Dobermans, Cairn
Terriers, Lhasa Apsos, and Dachshunds of all varieties. She has
also owned Airedales, mini Poodles, Bearded Collies, Papillons,
Chinese Crested and Chine Shar Peis.
In l969 Mrs.
Bryant began her judging career. This was after many successes
in the ring and being the breeder, owner, or co-owner of 89
champions. She is approved by the American Kennel Club to judge
5 groups: Working, Terrier, Toy, Non-Sporting, and Herding. Her
credentials also include approval for judging Labrador
Retrievers, Dachshunds, Basset Hounds, and Best in Show.
Mrs. Bryant is
currently a member of the Fort Worth Kennel Club and on the
Board of Directors. In the past she has served that
organization as president, secretary, and show chairman. She
has twice been president of the Cairn Terrier Club of America
and a former delegate from that club to the AKC.
Widely
traveled, Judge Bryant's judging assignments have taken her to
Argentina, Australia, Canada, Columbia, Finland, Germany,
Mexico, Peru, South Africa, Thailand and Venezuela. She
currently resides in Runaway Bay, TX, with 4 dogs and 3 cats.
Our breed is
not new to Mrs. Bryant. Although never the owner of a Fila, she
has judged them in Guadalajara, Mexico, and at several Rare
Breed shows, and also in the FBA Sweepstakes last year.

MRS. AGNES BUCHWALD BERGHER
To add an international flavor to the Fall Circuit this year we will be welcoming Mrs. Agnes Bergher. She is well acquainted with the breed and is one of the most prestigious judges from Brazil.
Born in Budapest, Hungary, this lady was raised and educated in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where she lived until her recent marriage to an American citizen. She and Dennis Bergher now live in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Dog experiences began in earnest in 1976 with Boxers and Hexastar Kennel. Agnes was the owner of 7 American Champions, numerous Brazilian and International Champions, Top Producers, BIS and BISS winners. Two sons, both of whom are veterinarians (Drs. Jean and Daniel Buchwald – now both living in the USA), joined their mother in the love of this breed. Daniel is a professional handler, as well, and has shown the No. 1 record breaking female Smooth Fox Terrier of all time in the US. About 1980 was the year when she began her career as a FCI/CBKC judge. She began with the Working Group and just five years later qualified as an all-rounder. Mrs. Buchwald has judged many shows throughout Brazil and in most South American countries, Australia, New Zealand, and in the USA. She considered it a special highlight to be invited by the American Boxer Club to preside at their National Specialty, having been the first South American judge to be so honored.
Always taking an active role in canine affairs, Mrs. Buchwald has had a dynamic career, and one with many responsibilities and leadership positions. She has been President of the Boxer Club of Sao Paulo, President of the Boxer Club do Brazil, Vice-President of the CBKC Specialty Clubs. She was the first woman to be appointed to the position of President of the Kennel Clube Paulista, and she is a life-time Counselor for this group.
As an author, Mrs. Buchwald has been in print in many Brazilian magazines and other foreign publications. She is currently a contributor to Dog News, here in the States. Her topic has been “Very Important Dog People”. One of her articles featured our very own founder of the FBA, Clelia Kruel of Camping Kennel.
Exhibitors and spectators alike will enjoy watching this judge in action. She is a vivacious lady with a fine command of the English language. She is professional, pleasant, and always ready to chat about Filas. This is a topic she knows well from her many experiences in Brazil.

DENISE TATRO
Denise titled her first Obedience dog, a black Standard Poodle, in 1962 at the age of nine. She grew up with Dobermans and her Grandmother always had mini-smooth Dachshunds. She has put well over fifty Obedience titles on dogs in all seven of the AKC groups, which means she has vast experience training and showing many different breeds of dogs.
For the past forty years she has taught all levels of competitive obedience, handling and canine behavior modification, with her specialty being aggressive/fearful dogs. She also does volunteer work with a group of 4-H children as well as judging the State 4-H final several times.
Denise and her husband “Red” breed and show AKC Whippets and Lakeland Terriers along with a couple of Mini-Wire Dachshunds that have recently been added. Denise and Red have finished over thirty-five champions, always breeder/owner-handled. She is an AKC licensed judge and is very active in her local breed club as well as her National breed clubs. She is a long time member of the Fort Worth Kennel Club and the Show Chairman for all events held by the club. In her “spare time” she also competes in agility with Bugsy, her mini Wire Dachshund. Her favorite saying is “There is nothing more fun than a well trained dog”.

PEGGY GUTIERREZ-OTERO
Peggy was born in a dog-oriented family. At the age of five, her family got involved in show dogs, an activity she still practices. At that time she had American Cocker Spaniels and Wirehaired Fox Terriers. Later on she bred Dalmations, Basset Hounds and Whippets. She doesn't breed currently as her work (Architect) doesn't provide her with much free time, but she has two registered Bassets from a very reputable breeder in Canada.
Peggy belongs to the FCM, which is the National Kennel Club in Mexico, affiliated to the FCI. She has been an All Breeds Judge since 1989. She has judged in most of the Latin American Countries, USA, Canada and Australia. Last year she judged at the World Show held in Mexico City and the Latin American and Caribbean Show held in Quito, Ecuador.
